Willy Camden

Willy Camden is a world-renowned and experienced art and fashion photographer whose career has spanned over thirty years. After graduating from Epsom School of Art and Design, Camden assisted Mario Testino and Ellen von Unwerth, among others, before striking out on his own and developing his unique and unmistakable style which has been called “bold, innovative and powerfully seductive”.

Initially focusing on editorial photography, Camden worked for many prominent publishing houses including Conde Nast and Hearst, choosing to shoot mainly celebrities and top models.

He went on to create dynamic and colorful advertising campaigns for clients such as Elizabeth Arden, Bacardi, and Hugo Boss; and continues to maintain professional relationships with many top advertising agencies.

Recently, Camden has started experimenting with three-dimensional technology and used this medium to shoot a very successful Guerlain perfume ad, featuring actress Angelina Jolie – the first advertisement of its kind. He is currently working on an ambitious 3D project for a future gallery show.

Camden’s images are inspired by a fundamental need to find beauty in everyone and everything; and to create something that includes both aesthetic and narrative, which culminates in memorable and exciting imaging. Holding an irreverent bias against all things hypocritical, elitist, and conformist helps inspire Camden to produce the beautiful images he photographs.

Camden has rarely offered his prints for sale, with only a few auctioned via Phillips Auction House, donated to charity fundraisers or sold to private clients. Camden is now opening part of his archive, plus producing new work, specifically for print sales. This is a unique opportunity to acquire his limited-edition prints.
