Clive Shalice

Having originally trained in Graphic Design, Clive turned his attention to photography in the early 1990’s after seeing the work of Richard Avedon in New York. His career began at the famous Holborn Studios in London before going onto work with eminent photographers David Bailey and Norman Watson amongst others.

His love of nature and exploration was nourished by the opportunities he had in his commercial vocation, travelling the world extensively throughout the next two decades and building his strong sensibility towards image making.
In recent years Clive has begun to document the equestrian world and how the relationship between horse and rider has developed into specific and diverse cultures and traditions. A recent project took him to southern Spain and to the Romeria de El Rocio festival, a religious pilgrimage that makes its way through the Donana marshes to the town of El Rocio to honour the Virgin Del Rocio.
