Description
Shot in London in 1999 for a GQ cover story, Brenda features model Brenda Schad, someone I had worked with several times and always found completely in tune with the direction of a shoot. There was an ease to the collaboration that allowed us to move quickly, trusting instinct rather than overthinking the moment. Brenda understood the tone immediately, bringing a quiet focus and confidence that carried the frame.
The setting was deliberately constructed but never rigid, allowing the energy between the subjects to unfold naturally. For me, the strength of the image comes from that balance — controlled but unforced, editorial but personal — reflecting the kind of trust that develops through repeated collaboration.
