About the Artist:
Matt Wedel (b. 1983, Palisade, Colorado) is an American ceramic sculptor known for his exuberant, hand-built works that explore the interconnectedness of nature, humanity, and form. Now based in Athens, Ohio, Wedel’s practice bridges ancient craft traditions with contemporary expression, celebrated for its vibrant color, scale, and organic abstraction. His works have been exhibited widely, including at L.A. Louver and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
